We’re proud to celebrate the ribbon cutting for the new Sydor Optics Advanced Technology Center at Monroe Community College.
This state-of-the-art facility is the result of a strong collaboration between New York State, Monroe County, Monroe Community College, Sydor Optics, and industry partners, all working together to strengthen education, workforce development, and advanced manufacturing in our region.
More than twice the size of MCC’s current Advanced Technology Center, the new facility will provide immersive, hands-on learning environments for advanced manufacturing, automotive technology, HVAC, and more.
Especially meaningful to our industry, it will also become the new home of MCC’s Optical Systems Technology program, the first two-year optics program of its kind in the nation and an important pipeline for the optics and photonics workforce.
The Sydor Optics Advanced Technology Center represents a commitment to education, opportunity, and the people who will help shape the future of advanced manufacturing in Rochester and beyond.
